Editorial policy and content standards
These guidelines explain how Voytara researches, writes and maintains its transportation guides. They exist so travelers know exactly what our information is based on, and what it is not.
How we research a route
Every guide starts from a pre-verified bank of local facts: airport locations, terminal names and neighborhoods, operators known to run each corridor, road conditions and seasonal patterns. Anything not already verified is checked against current sources before it reaches a published guide. We work in four layers:
- Official sources: airport, terminal and operator information, and public road and transit references.
- Local observation: first-hand experience of the routes, terminals and transfers across Colombia.
- Traveler-level detail: the real bottlenecks, departure points and connection quirks that shape a trip.
- Freshness checks: recent changes, closures or seasonal advisories that affect the route.
How we present figures
Prices and travel times are given as ranges, not single numbers, and usually across scenarios (optimal conditions, typical traffic, and heavy rain or peak demand). This is deliberate: transportation in Colombia varies with traffic, weather, season and operator, and a single figure would mislead. All prices are reference estimates in Colombian pesos and can change.
What we will not do
- We do not fabricate data. If a fare, schedule or distance cannot be verified, it is omitted or flagged, never invented.
- We do not name a “best” company. Where several operators run a route, we explain how to compare them at the terminal and choose the next convenient departure.
- We do not use promotional or aspirational language. Voytara explains a system; it does not sell a trip.
Neutrality and independence
Voytara is an independent platform. We do not operate transportation services, we do not sell tickets, and we do not accept payment to feature or rank any operator. Operators are mentioned only as neutral, factual information about who serves a corridor.
Corrections and updates
Conditions on the ground change, and so do our guides. When a route shifts, a terminal moves or a fare changes, we update the affected guide. If you notice something out of date, or you have a correction from your own journey, tell us through the contact page and we will review it. Guides carry a last-updated date so you can judge how current the information is.
Authorship
Voytara’s guides are written and edited by Alexander González, based in the Coffee Region of Colombia, drawing on direct experience traveling the country’s transport network. More about the platform is on the about page.
